Christopher Sommer is a former gymnastics coach with over 40 years of experience. He’s trained a plethora of athletes and even developed his own training system, GymnasticBodies.

This is the best information I extracted from this chapter:

  1. “If you want to be a stud later, you have to be a pud now.”
  2. “When in doubt, work on the deficiencies you’re most embarrassed by.”
  3. Consistency over Intensity.

All great consistent themes that I’m hitting through each chapter of this book. So it may sound like I’m bringing up the same thing over and over again, but don’t blame me. Blame Mr. Ferriss and his compilation of these amazing, successful people.

I’ve been diligently trying to figure out style for the children’s book. I’m just doodling away in the sketchbook, and, you know, the shapes and forms will work themselves out. That is my consistency.

What I NEED to do is work on my deficiencies: backgrounds and composition. I need to shift from being someone who simply draws, to a full fledged illustrator. It’s the exciting and scary part of this endeavor.

In the meantime, I will use the skills I already have for character development. I will be the pud who lacks skills now to become more later (possibly a stud, I won’t go that far just yet).
