Tools of Titans: Rhonda Perciavalle Patrick, PhD

There wasn’t much on a deep personal level that I took away from this chapter. The first section, however, is on teeth my oldest, Ariana, has her first loose tooth. She now jumps at the chance to eat an apple or something comparative.

I learned here that her teeth should be saved by a company that can maintain the tooth and its stem cells for later usage if need be. $625 for setup and then $125 per year for storage and maintenance. I’m glad there is science that is out to help people through treatments of various kinds. But this is an investment that seems worse than insurance. $125 a year which could never be used?

Also, there is a study referenced where a “30-minute sauna session twice a week for 3 weeks post -workout increased the time it took for study participants to run until exhaustion.” How many of us plan to run until we are exhausted and cannot run anymore? Unfortunately too many in my opinion. I’ve adopted the mentality that mankind is not meant to just huff and puff for prolonged periods of time. We wouldn’t have done that back in our hunter-gatherer days and it makes little to no sense to do it now.

So, not much out of this one. On to the next chapter: Marc Andreessen.
