Show Review: Gotham, Episode 1

I saw Gotham the other day and I must say the pilot was a little wishy washy to me. Don’t get me wrong, I think there are some good things to build upon. There are some lesser things to improve.

Edward, Oswald, and Carmine Falcone are right on point and well acted. Future-Riddler as the forensics guy for GPD is genius. Seeing that Future-Penguin is going to eventually embrace his unwanted nickname should be a fun journey to see. Carmine was exquisite in the little screen time he had. Jim Gordon is a over-the-top sometimes but then other times he’s portrayed perfectly. I would say the same thing for Alfred as well.

I’m still figuring out Fish Mooney. I love me some Jada and she has shown Fish to be ruthless in her search for power. I think I’m just getting my brain around her playing a mobster.

The whole intro with the pills was meh. The major crimes folks were too much also. Plus, does Selina Kyle just wander around staring into space?

Like I mentioned earlier, I think there are pieces of the pilot that Gotham can  build upon. I’m anxious to see how the show does and to see how things unfold.
