My Avengers: Endgame Experience

So today is the official release date of the latest Marvel Studios film, Avengers: Endgame.

To say that it is a highly anticipated film would be an understatement. Today will be filled with reaction videos, reviews, speculation, praises and disappointments. I have my thoughts, but instead of diving into those I want to share my movie going experience.

Amateur Dads: John Saddington

Just three dads chattin‘ on a Friday night.

My brother and I were honored to speak with Appa of three on the latest episode of the Amateur Dads podcast. It was a brilliant discussion between three dads recorded on a Friday night.

I hope you enjoy, and stay awesome.

CBA: Mister Miracle

I don’t think there’s anything I’ve read recently quite like Mister Miracle. I’ll have to read it multiple times to fully grasp all of its nuances, but to say Tom King and Mitch Gerads’ tale left an impression is an understatement.

Scott Free is. Mister Miracle.

Proud Transformers Moment: The Bumblebee Opening

The family watched Bumblebee this weekend, and the opening scene was a thing of glory.

As the scene progressed, the family shouted out names of Autobots and Decepticons. Ratchet! Arcee! Cliffjumper! Wheeljack! Optimus! Soundwave! Starscream! Shockwave!

NBA 18-19

I haven’t watched this much NBA in years, and I’m enjoying it a lot.

It’s refreshing to see teams like Milwaukee, Philadelphia, and Denver doing well. As a Lakers fan, I’m disappointed in this season. There has been drama, but I like some of the young players they have on the roster.

“Searching|” Gave Me Anxiety

My wife and I have watched quite a few movies so far this year, and the other night we saw perhaps the best one yet: Searching.

The movie is a very original take on the thriller. We experience the story through a completely digital perspective. The directors used aspects of Windows and Apple operating systems to an amazing degree.

Springtime…Please?

Spring starts on March 20 and my family is aching for warmer weather. It snowed yet again yesterday in Northern Virginia, and so you know what that means: schools closed for two days!

They’re really trying our parental nerves over here. Perhaps it’s an aim at student attrition. “We’ll see how many of them come back when we reopen”

Blaster Found

I loved Transformers as a kid, and one that I still have is Blaster: a red and yellow boom box.

My son is getting more and more into Transformers and so I’ve let him play with this old toy. So when he was playing the Transformers: Forged to Fight game on my phone and he saw Blaster as an available robot in disguise, he had to have it.

Last year I tabled at my first comic convention, AwesomeCon, here in the DC area. I researched best practices and tips leading up to the convention with mixed results.

The conversations were great in this thread, and it’s a valuable resource for anyone entering artist alley.

The Fox

What exactly does the Fox say? According to this Ylvis classic it’s any of these options:

I never heard of this ridiculous song until my eldest daughter begged and pleaded for me to search for it on YouTube. Turns out that Physical Education now includes dancing to folks playing Just Dance. I hope these YouTubers are monetized because they’re making a killing off of schools.
