I cared a lot about it never being an R-rating. And I totally support the movies that do have an R-rating, but in this case I was very aware that little girls were going to want to see the film, and I was very protective of that. So it had to not be Rated R to me. I would have been happy to go for PG, but it’s World War I, so we couldn’t!
Yes, yes, yes.
I’ve been searching for some backup on my decision to take my kids to see Wonder Woman this weekend and this article helped a lot. To hear straight from the director Patty Jenkins that she had little girls in mind is such a sigh of relief.
Please know my hesitation was purely based on appropriateness based on the World War I backdrop, and the obvious images of war.
I was already pumped for this movie. The positive reviews amplified my excitement. Now the mindfulness of Ms. Jenkins to allow kids into the audience makes attendance a no-brainer.
Stay tuned for another Sketch and Review next week for Wonder Woman.
